This Saturday

It may be hot this Saturday, but we will do our best to keep you cool!
Salmon Has Arrived!
The Cold Country Salmon guys, all local, are back from their annual 6 weeks of fishing in Alaska, and have caught boatloads of wild caught salmon. This is probably the only salmon you can find that has been immediately cleaned, iced, wrapped and frozen and brought to us directly from Alaska. Stock up at our market tomorrow. Wild-caught salmon is particularly nourishing “brain-food.”
Spreading the Word
We were mentioned in the Great Falls Connection this week, as part of the article, “Grat Falls Weekend: Places to Go.” (Great Falls Connection, July 20-26, 2016, page 12).  Everyone was informed that the farmers market happens every Saturday in the Great Falls Village Centre, right after Cars and Coffee. It was also noted that Great Falls National Park, the Seneca Regional Park, and Concerts on the Green are also notable destinations. A great place to shop and socialize, Marika Tsombikos, owner of Kai + Ros of Great Falls who handmakes leather purses and handbags was mentioned as an example of one of the local vendors. She said, “I come to the market to meet and connect with local people, market my brand, and because the customers are great!”
We think the customers are great, too, and really look forward to your visit tomorrow.
About Quail Eggs
Last week, DoctorSchar joined the market with some lovely new products – a variety of vinegars, eight types of jelly sweetened by the juice of the fruits being preserved, and Japanese quail eggs. It was so interesting to hear how various customers thought able the eggs: One neighbor uses quail eggs in egg salad or green salads, hard-boiling them and leaving them whole to make a visual effect of the white round egg rather than a chopped up yellow yoke. Another neighbor loves to devil quail eggs as appetizers, mixing the yoke with mustard and a tad of vinegar, for a lovely small hors d’oeuvre.  Quail eggs are also great on mini-waffles, as they are just small enough to fit perfectly.
Emergency Provisions
Just so you know, you can order a variety pack of Pure Veg burgers to keep in your freezer – great to feed your hungry crew during the unpredictable summer days when hunger suddenly surges.
Summer Produce
We are looking forward to the summer produce – cantaloupe, green beans, corn, lots of tomatoes.
Beautifying your Garden
Its not too late to add pizzazz to your garden. Pots & Plants on the Pike have beautiful plants, flowers, and bushes which you can purchase at the market or visit their garden store to see their entire collection.
